FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

David Pankotai Assumes Role of CEO of Macomb County Community Mental Health

The Macomb County Community Mental Health Board is pleased to announce that David Pankotai has assumed the role of chief executive officer, effective December 17, 2018.

"David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help Macomb County Community Health navigate the many challenges it currently faces," said Kathy Vosburg, chair of the Board.

Pankotai is an experienced executive director with over 20 years in the behavioral health field.

Before joining MCCMH, Pankotai was executive director for ConsumerLink Network, a Managed Comprehensive Provider Network (MCPN) funded by the Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority to manage services and supports for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Since joining ConsumerLink Network in 2002, Pankotai developed the successful start-up corporation that grew from $11 million per year and 1,747 members to over $100 million and more than 6,000 members.

During his career, Pankotai demonstrated progressive quality improvement in state, county and accreditation audits; utilization management criteria for Medicaid supports; data tracking and reporting mechanisms; and outcome measures. He also conducted numerous trainings for providers and community stakeholders, and coordinated planning of services and supports with mental health advocates at the local and state level while working as part of the team to expand integrated healthcare models in the community mental health system.

"The Macomb County Community Mental Health Board looks forward to working with David to gain from the experience he will bring to the organization," said Vosburg.

Pankotai holds a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical & Community Psychology from the University of Michigan - Flint. He has resided in Macomb County for over 20 years. He currently lives in Macomb Township with his fiancée, Kimberly.

"As its new CEO, MCCMH will continue to be driven by its mission: to be guided by the values, strengths and informed choices of the people it serves while providing quality services which promote recovery, community participation, self-sufficiency and independence," said Pankotai.

"I look forward to working with our Board, talented staff and providers to provide Macomb County residents with quality mental health and substance abuse disorder services."

A search committee was formed earlier this year to search for a new CEO, which selected Pankotai via Board approval.

Macomb County Community Mental Health is the public provider of mental health, substance use and developmental disability treatment services in Macomb County. MCCMH programs and services are supported and funded, in part, by the Michigan Department of Community Health and the Macomb County Board of Commissioners and are administered by the Macomb County Community Mental Health Board.
